Many of us are thinking about how to live healthier this time of year. The Ohio Pork Council would like to challenge to you to take as many steps as a farmer.
Meet Lauren Schwab. She is one of many Ohio farmers who take many STEPS to regularly care for pigs. An average day at work for Lauren means that she takes 15,000 to 20,000 steps in the barn and around the barnyard.
Lauren’s daily jobs include regularly feeding pigs, cleaning the barn, and tending to newborn babies. In addition to the physical steps she takes each day, Lauren takes many other steps that her pedometer can’t count, to observe her pigs and ensure they have the best possible care.
