Easy Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Easy Back to School Meal Idea – Pulled Pork Sandwiches

Preparing simple family meals is one of the many goals that I try to juggle as a working mom.  As I ask friends for dinner ideas and look around the internet, I’m reminded that the slow cooker can be a great kitchen tool.  I have a personal goal of learning more delicious slow cooker meals.

My go-to slow cooker meal is making BBQ Pulled Pork with a pork shoulder and a can of pop.

Easy Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Step 1 – Purchase the biggest pork shoulder roast that will fit in your slow cooker.

Step 2 – Add a can of pop, soda or Coke, depending where you are cooking.  My favorites are cherry flavored pop or root beer.

Step 3 – Cover and turn on low for 10 – 12 hours OR turn on high for 6 – 8 hours.

Step 4 – Drain extra liquid.

Step 5 – Use two forks to shred the pork.

Step 6 – Add a small bottle (or your preferred amount) of barbecue sauce.

Step 7 – Freeze any extra for a super easy meal later on!
