Pig Out, at the Ohio State Fair!

Special guest blog written by Amanda, the coolest intern we’ll have here at the Ohio Pork Council this summer – easily!

For as long as I can remember, my family has traveled to the Ohio State Fair to volunteer serving food in the Ohio Pork Council’s pork stand. Whether I was serving drinks, making sandwiches, or putting together a meal, I always enjoyed being able to volunteer and represent Ohio pig farmers and other agricultural groups.

This year will be a new experience though. Being an intern for the Ohio Pork Council means that I will help to manage the pork food stands through the duration of the state fair. I’m looking forward to visiting with many great farmers friends of the pork industry while serving fairgoers. I’m very excited and know this will be a fun and exciting time!

The Ohio State Fair will be here before we know it. Nine days to be exact, but who’s counting? Come visit us at the Taste of Ohio Café at the Ohio State Fair and use this coupon to receive $1 off any order of pork at the Ohio Pork Council booth!

Just in case you need a reminder, the pork stand offers the following pork items: pig wings, “the other burger,” barbecue pulled pork, loins, wraps, pork parfaits, and loaded baked potatoes. MMMMMMM…they all sound so delicious! Want to hear something else that we think is pretty awesome…!? The Ohio Pork Council would like to give one family an opportunity to visit the Ohio State Fair free of charge. That’s right; it’s time for another contest! Visit the Ohio Hog Farmers Facebook page for more info!

  1. I’m 69 now, as a child my dad took us to the fair. We had 120 acre dairy and hog farm in SW Ohio.
See all the ag things, trotters, fresh lemonade and Bob Evans patti sausage sandwich with cheese on white bread and mustard.
    The best of times !!
